GAYS IN THE MILITARY

A vast majority of the gays that are discharged from the military are results from people outing themselves. Thers have been those that have neen singled out for reasons such as ... narced on, pissed off a "higher up", etc. But the others, who give people like myself a bad name, are individuals who do not know when to shut up and do their jobs. Just like any situation there are people who we have to handle with kid gloves because of their race, sexual orientation, gender, single parents, etc.
Currently, the military is proposing to build seperate barracks for homosexuals. What the hell?
That is soooo gay! Our tax money will be going to build these things, and I can think of plenty other things we could spend our money on. We want to be treated with equal rights, yet we have morons who enroll in the military like it is a meat market. Without Honor or Discipline or respect for themselves or our country.
My opinion, if you are in the military, YOU ARE A SOLDIER! Not a man, not a woman, but a SOLDIER serving our country. Keep your private business private, private! Coduct yourself with Honor, Dignity and Respect and you will be treated that way.
I understand there are rules being passed to (again) regulate the asshole homophobes, but we can't put all the blame on them. Take resposibilty for yourself and you asstions (lol). Shoot some rounds off at the enemy, not at your fellow soldier.

  1. I agree with this 100%. Believe me if we are at war or just need military protection, I don't care if your black,white,gay,lesbian..if you can stop someone from hurting me or my family or protect our rights as americans, then I am cool with you (whoever) you may be. The constitution doesn't say only certain people have rights..all Americans are created equal and should be treated that way. That should be not only in the Military, but everywhere in the USA. It disgusts me on how people of this country still seem to be stuck back in the early 1900's! It's 2010 people...get with the times!

  2. I guess my point was, when you enlist you are putting your ass on the line (no pun intended) to protect our country. If there are men and women conducting themselves in a way they need their very own barracks, maybe a better place for them would be the bar. Look, I am all about equal rights, but special rights really piss me off. Act loife a soldier, not SISTA!

  3. Yes, I forgot to talk about that point as well. I have to say I haven't heard anything about this until your blog, but still would like to comment. I don't think any soldier gay or straight should conduct themselves in a manor that is unbecoming of an soldier. If you are making others uncomfortable around you with your actions then maybe you should rethink your actions. When you join the military you agree to be "honorable". You put others before yourself and you should do the same with your fellow soldiers. If you enrolled just to be first in line at a "buffet", then you are in for totally wrong reason and should get out. Those type of people really make it impossible for others to overcome that "typical" stereotype and not to metion all the violent reprocussions (spelling) that can go along with it from the "homophobes" that are our there. Why make things more difficult for yourself and others? And our gov't is going to pay for this...I mean "we" are going to pay for this?....just another waste of our tax dollars. When does the nonsense stop?

  4. I agree with you on this. For ANYONE ..if you want to be treated respectable, carry yourself with dignity.Whatever job you have,is just that ...a JOB it has nothing to do with your sexual orientation or race ect. If you are in the military, your job is to fight for and defend our country, it has absolutely nothing to do with your personal affairs. Weather you are straight, gay or lesbian black or white has nothing at all to do with what you are in the military for...& separate barracks? come on, seriously??? That to me is as far out there as the blacks wanting "equal rights" yet they have negro collage & black miss America etc..(that excludes all other races)...They bitch to be included in the"white" world, yet at their own hand they can choose to separate themselves from this at their own discretion...but if they are excluded (say we had a WHITE collage fund or ONLY white Miss America) it is racist ..WTF???
Okay I got off of the subject a bit BUT My point is people are people if you want to be respected, act respectable....
